1.Graphics Design

Vacancy Description   
Vermillion, a reprographics company based in Leeds is seeking an Apprentice Mac Artworker/Re-Toucher to join their busy team working with some of the biggest and best known brands and Home Shopping companies. The job role will require editing of images and the production of artwork for home shopping catalogues.

Use of Indesign, Photoshop and Quark XPress. Training in all aspects of Graphic Arts will be given including Artwork, Colour Retouching and Colour Management

2.Games Designer

We’re looking for a number of Developer Apprentices to join us at Code. 
If you’re aged 18 -24 and want to start your career in digital, this could be your big chance.
Do you see a problem as a blocker or an opportunity to figure something out?  You might not have all the answers right now but are you able to get stuck in, come up with ideas, and try things out till you come up with a solution?
Computerlovers look for opportunities to try things out, save time, remove waste but most importantly, do awesome work that embodies ‘Computerlove’.

Our UX Developer Apprentices will be supported with off-the-job learning from Hyper Island, enrolling on their Digital Apprentice in interactive Design & Development, offering you the opportunity to gain in-demand knowledge and competences and develop personal learning and thinking skills while working on live briefs and projects in the workplace.

Apprentices will spend 4 weeks at the beginning of the programme at Hyper Island before joining us full-time at Code. You’ll be supported by a mentor and will return to Hyper Island at intervals over a 15 month period to share progress and explore personal development.
We want people who love ideas, trying new things and creating. UX Developers are at the heart of all our work here at Code. As such this is the perfect role to start in to get an understanding of the digital industry and will give you great prospects to develop.
If you have an interest in design and coding this would be the perfect role for you. If you know your way around Adobe Photoshop and can play around with HTML & CSS we want to hear from you.

Write, edit and maintain web content, monitor website analytics, reporting findings and developing changes based upon these results, develop our search engine optimisation, carry out cross browser testing, investigate and implement new online channels, develop opportunities for best reaching young people through online channels, research, develop and implement new web platforms, research and develop new functionality to be used on our websites eg.widgets, support, assist and advise design team with creative digital and online developments, provide support to schools accessing our website for schools, keep up to date with new web developments and other new technologies, assessing their relevance to the council's websites, and making recommendations on web developments.

4.Programmer
PLAY GROUND SQUAD

* As Programmer at PlaygroundSquad your main responsibility is to provide quality code for your own portfolio as well as the projects you are involved in. You will learn 2D and 3D game programming using C++ and 3D APIs such as DirectX or OpenGL. You will also learn about subjects such as mathematics, rendering, network, AI, physics, audio programming, scripting, optimizations, code management and teamwork. You will work with both PC and dedicated hardware consoles such as PS Vita, PS3 and PS4.

* The apprenticeship is divided between studying and working in authentic or client-ordered projects.

* A senior developer from the industry will assist you in your training and guide you through your projects on a daily basis.

* During projects you will work in teams together with friends from the Artist, Designer and Programmer disciplines.

* You are to administer your schedule with responsibility and dedication to make the most of your time at PlaygroundSquad. Prepare for an intense time of training mixed with projects.

Springboard


Upstream Communications is the design and print department of Springboard Sunderland Trust, offering a wide range of commercial design and print services as well as apprenticeship training opportunities for young people. We design and produce artwork using Apple Mac technology with industry standard software including InDesign, Photoshop, QuarkXPress, FreeHand and Illustrator to produce a variety of work such as:

- This is a paid position however ideally candidate would be based nearby to minimise costs to them.
 The candidate will gain experience in commercial photography from a busy professional, a diploma in photography/photo editing, an apprenticeship pay and a very realistic possibility of being offered a well-rewarded job with longevity afterwards. We need a coder who’s also a designer, or the other way around. A thinker; a problem solver. Interested in creating something engaging that
the user wants to play with, rather than just get information out of.

We're only small and we need to grow. We're after a fourth spoke to the Rhythm wheel who's enthusiastic, keen and not set in their ways or precious; someone willing to try new things and help make seemingly impossible problems melt away. We want to learn from them (almost) as much as they will from us.
